THEODORE “DUTCH” VAN KIRK, AVIATION’S FAMOUS NAVIGATOR OF THE
B-29 ENOLA GAY, WILL VISIT THE BUFFALO AREA
On August 6, 1945, Theodore “Dutch” Van Kirk participated in one of the world’s most significant events of the 20th century.

Theodore “Dutch” Van Kirk, the last living member of the crew of the Enola Gay, will sign his authorized biography My True Course. Also with Mr. Van Kirk will be Suzanne Simon Dietz, the author and historian for the Town of Porter and Aero Club of Buffalo.

The biography of Mr. Van Kirk is an important book that documents “Dutch” Van Kirk’s life from his childhood in Northumberland, PA, to Hiroshima, Japan, and the end of WWII. Dietz has meticulously documented important facts surrounding events leading to “Dutch” Van Kirk’s momentous flight to Hiroshima and the dawn of the atomic age. This book is a must read for historians and those interested in aviation.
